Grenada’s first COVID-19 patient has been transferred to the ICU of Grenada General Hospital after her condition began to deteriorate.

COVID-19 Coordinator, George Mitchell said the UK based, 50-year-old female, condition was good on Sunday when the results were announced during a press conference, however, she has quickly developed respiratory issues.

Grenada’s COVID-19 medical team continues with contact tracing of this confirmed case.

COVID-19 Coordinator, Dr George Mitchell expressed his frustration at the lack of cooperation by some members of the population. Mitchell went on to say, “I want to urge Grenadians to please take our warning seriously. Respect social distancing measures and especially the requirement that you adhere to 14-day mandatory quarantine orders when entering Grenada from anywhere in the world, regardless if you are a Grenadian national or visitor.”
